★Ingredients

For the Donuts

2 1/4 teaspoons (1 packet) active dry yeast

1 1/4 cups warm milk

1/2 cup granulated sugar

2 eggs

1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

1/2 teaspoon salt

4 cups all-purpose flour, plus extra for rolling

Oil for frying

For the Chocolate Glaze

4 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, chopped

1/2 cup heavy cream

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 tablespoons corn syrup

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dough
  • Pour the warm milk into a bowl and sprinkle the yeast over it. Let it sit for about 5 minutes, until the mixture becomes foamy.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, sugar, salt, and melted butter.

  • Add the egg mixture to the yeast and milk blend. Gradually incorporate the flour until a soft dough forms.
  • Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5 to 7 minutes until it’s smooth and elastic.
  • Place the dough into a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm area for about 1 hour or until it doubles in size.
  1. Shape and Fry the Donuts
  • Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/2 inch thick.
  • Cut out donuts using a donut cutter or a large round cutter, then use a smaller cutter to create the holes in the center.
  • Let the shaped donuts rise for another 30 minutes.
  • Heat oil in a deep fryer or a large skillet to 375°F (190°C).
  • Fry the donuts for about 1 to 2 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and crisp.
  • Remove the donuts from the oil and place them on a wire rack lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.
  1. Prepare the Chocolate Glaze
  • In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it just begins to simmer.
  • Remove from heat and add the chopped chocolate. Stir until the chocolate melts completely and the mixture becomes smooth.

Stir in the corn syrup and vanilla extract.

  1. Assemble

Dip the cooled donuts into the chocolate glaze, ensuring they are generously coated.

Allow the glaze to set for a few minutes before serving.

Tip: You can decorate your glazed donuts with extra toppings like chocolate chips, sugar sprinkles, or crushed nuts for added texture and flavor.

Enjoy this delightful treat with friends and family!
