Classic Meatloaf with Mashed Potatoes and Green Beans

★Ingredients

For the meatloaf”

1/2 cup breadcrumbs

500g ground beef

1/4 cup milk

1 egg

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1 small onion (finely chopped)

1/2 tsp black pepper

1 tsp salt

For the mashed potatoes:

1/4 cup ketchup (for topping)

2 tbsp butter

1/4 cup milk

4 medium potatoes (peeled and boiled)

Salt and pepper to taste

For the green beans”

2 slices of bacon (chopped)

300g fresh green beans

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1 tbsp olive oil

Salt and pepper to taste

Dinner rolls: Store-bought or homemade

★Instructions

  1. Prepare the meatloaf

Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).

In a bowl, mix the ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, milk, onion, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Shape the mixture into two large balls or a loaf.

Place on a baking tray, top with ketchup, and bake for 40–50 minutes.

  1. Make the mashed potatoes

Mash the boiled potatoes until smooth. Add butter, milk, salt, and pepper, and mix until creamy.

  1. Cook the green beans

Heat olive oil in a pan, then add bacon pieces and cook until crispy. Add green beans, garlic powder, salt, and pepper, and sauté for 5–7 minutes.

  1. assemble the plate

Place the meatloaf, mashed potatoes, and green beans on a plate. Add dinner rolls on the side for a complete, comforting meal.
